What is Hybrid Work?

A Hybrid workplace model blends in-office and remote work environments to increase freedom and autonomy around when to work, and where. Rather than working around fixed hours, Hybrid work combines independence with sociability and structure, and gives employees the opportunity to fit work around their lives.

Making the transition to a Hybrid workplace requires revamping the spatial design and configuration of the office space, selecting the optimal technology stack, and outlining how the offices that we work in can impact and improve the company culture.

Integrated Hybrid Models

Present State > Future State

Hive is leading the way in preparing companies for the future of work. Our process brings companies from their current state to an integrated hybrid model – here are some examples of the questions that we like to discuss along the way.

Current State of Business

  • The office is where we work
  • We’ve adopted video conferencing software and company-wide chat
  • Lack of functional meeting space
  • Current office doesn’t reflect culture and brand
  • Our company allows employees to work from home every Friday
  • Our employees spend 90% of their day at their desk

Future State Discussion with Hive

  • What does office 2.0 look like and how do employees manage their work and life best to be more productive?
  • What is the technology experience and software stack that best enables productivity and mobility across the organization?
  • What could a more functional and collaborative space look like?
  • How can the values of the company be reinforced spatially, with a purposeful aesthetic?
  • How can the company give employees the tools and support to work from anywhere, any time?
  • How can we best use utilization sensors on desks and areas of the office to create data-driven recommendations?
